Saying Goodbye to Busch...
Local architectural photographer, Toby Weiss bids adieu to Busch Stadium.
I agree with Toby's thoughts word for word.
And I've never taken for granted these views from the stadium. No matter the decade, it's always thrilled, even when a particular game didn't. The arc, the Arch, the sweep and swirl of energy, and all the pieces that combine to turn a structure into the nucleus of a proud and glamorous era.

Pretty War on the Scene - The Praxair Incident: The Aftermath
Pretty War headed over to the Lafayette Square neighborhood to shoot some photos at the scene of the Praxair Explosion.

The area was bustling with firefighters, cops, various news reporters and photographers, curious residents and their dogs.

I wasn't able to cross the yellow tape, but that's okay, either was the photographer from the Post-Dispatch. As would be expected, the area had the smell of burnt matter in the air. Here is a shot of a charred grassy knoll just across the street

Here is a shot of some of the tanks that made it ...

... and a piece of one that didn't -

A car that was reduced to ashes, that I was told was just bought by a local resident last week.

For some excellent photos of the actual disaster go to

Cluster of buildings on South Broadway near Jefferson. There is something about this particular stretch that I find quite charming.
