I, too, always stare at it while driving by. But I've never gotten close to it. Always wondered what those bright colors were made of... contact paper? So, thanks for getting up close to show the materials. Just beautiful.

I kinda figured it would work *against* my efforts to make people say "hey, Modernism really can be beautiful!" But heh, I agree, the kitsch factor is delightful. What a hodge-podge! A 1940s cupola, a 1960s church, a 1950s cross, and a post-modern tile grid.
