...for the second annual Mound City Music Festival (MCMF). A different venue and lineup from last years event held at Mississippi Nights. Last year included sets by The Rockhouse Ramblers, Richard Buckner, Anders Parker and Son Volt. It was a well-attended benefit with proceeds of approximately $18,000 that went to Alejandro Escovedo, Karl Mueller of Soul Asylum and Habitat for Humanity.
This year's event is held at The Pageant on Saturday, December 10th and tickets are 30 bucks in advance, $35 day of show. Doors will open at 6 pm and this is an all ages event. Proceeds from the show will be donated to Music Maker's New Orleans Musicians Fund as well as St. Louis' South City Open Studio and Gallery for Children and KDHX. A special letterpress poster is also being designed by St. Louis' Firecracker Press. As with last year's poster, they will have all musicians sign the posters again to raise additional money for the above mentioned causes as well as the St. Louis-based St. Stephens Early Childhood Development Program and Friends of Carondelet Park. These posters will be very limited and sold for $50 each through the Jay Farrar website beginning THIS FRIDAY NOVEMBER 18.
