The Shangri-La Diner

The front of their menu states, "If you like us, we'd appreciate it if you tell your friends.". So I'm doing just that. In the heart of the antique district along Cherokee St., this Benton Park "diner" is billed as a little piece of paradise. Indeed. This groovy little place serves up eclectic comfort food in the style of owner, chief cook and bottle washer, Patrice Mari's personal fav's. The food is mainly vegetarian, with a few dishes that include Alaskan salmon. We had the soft fish tacos which were fabulous, and a Jamaican ginger beer was a perfect accompaniment. Their hours are Thurs-Sat, 10am-5pm, and their award winning brunch is Sunday from 10am-2pm. That's next on our radar. I can't wait to try their Creme Brulee French Toast! Check out the eye candy below, this place is extremely photogenic. The rest of my photos of The Shangri-La Diner can be found here
