Shadows of the Arches

Another photo of the doomed stadium. This is the sunlight shining through the arches that decorate the circumference and give nod to the gateway to the west.

I can't tell you how much I like this photo! Once again you've picked up on a subtlety that I've missed when visiting this beautifully designed stadium.

Y'know? I'm feeling oddly sentimental about the Ol' Concrete Oven. It's still a dump and needs to go the way of all things, and I still won't miss it much, but those arches along the top of the place do dress it up a bit.

Still, you can dress it up however you want and it's STILL a football stadium masquerading as a ballpark. And it's past time for it to come down.

That is a terrific photo, BTW. Unmistakeble as to where it was taken. Thanks for that.
