Urban Pic of the Day - South Broadway

Cluster of buildings on South Broadway near Jefferson. There is something about this particular stretch that I find quite charming.

Maybe it's the Busch drafts at Scott's you find charming?!

Ha Ha! I think it has to do with the fact that that group of buildings reminds me of the set of Popeye the movie. Remember that one, with Robin Williams??

Well blow me down, I can totally see that comparison!

The only time I went to Scott's, I heard some of the wildest, most provocative racist comments I've ever come across in public; even by Southside barroom standards, it was rough. Maybe it's changed, but I've not popped back in since. Anybody else been through?

That said, it is a funky little stretch of road. Nice pic.

Terrific picture, as they all are – what amazing, robust architecture that that it still has major character even after such abuse (Durostone yuk) – I love the chair in the four-foot wide front yard, for a warm evening along South Broadway.
